Sweet Life
Sound and color echoes off of the blank spaces,
Verberating like a pulse,
That sky rockets
Penetrating the seal of this universe.
The big bang flatlines
Causing the pendulum to swing
Off of its axis
All we know
Begins tumbling through
And in
And out
And down.
Our worlds hanging onto threads
Sewn by zealots
That cradled the minds
Of those
Whose worlds
Would feel safe
With words that sounded like warm meaning.
As it all unravels
The truth becomes naked
At the Eve of the end.
Thunder breaks down,
Admitting
That the idea
That this all ever existed
Is the epitome of magic
Pulled out of a hat,
Tipping off the ones
Who have been searching for the corner of the universe
Or where the sidewalk ends
And the darkness begins.
The people have been plowing for a plot
Not realizing
This was never a story,
Just moments to be savored
Until the sweetness ran out
